I'm a licensed clinical social worker and the founder of Lean In. With a deep commitment to providing high-quality mental health services, I've created Lean in Therapy as a therapeutic haven for BIPOC individuals seeking authentic connection and healing.
Having spent the past five years working in a private practice dedicated to serving black and brown communities, my passion for supporting BIPOC individuals has been the driving force behind the inception of Lean In Therapy. I wear multiple hats: social worker, advocate, educator, and psychotherapist. My journey is rooted in standing alongside my clients as they navigate the complexities of life, addressing challenges ranging from trauma, grief, and anxiety to the impacts of racism and systemic discrimination.
Lean in Therapy was intentionally designed as a telehealth practice, prioritizing accessibility for clients. I believe in making mental health services more convenient, eliminating barriers, and fostering a space where individuals can truly be seen, heard, and valued. As a black male therapist, I bring a unique perspective and understanding to the therapeutic process, striving to be a breath of fresh air for those whom society has long tried to suffocate.
My specialization lies in providing mental health therapy services, with a particular focus on addressing various challenges such as trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, racism, and systemic discrimination. I emphasize the use of EMDR therapy, recognizing the importance of tailoring approaches to meet the diverse needs of my clients.
As a firm believer in the concept that our bodies "keep the score," I employ Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients overcome negative messaging internalized from their lived experiences. I understand that there's no one-size-fits-all solution, so I draw from various therapeutic modalities, including CBT, psychodynamic therapy, and EMDR, to create a personalized approach for each client.
If you're ready to embark on a journey of healing, self-discovery, and growth, Lean In Therapy is here for you. My mission is to turn broken systems upside down and undo generations of damage and harm. Whether you're a BIPOC or a supporter of inclusive mental health, Lean in Therapy is your safe space.
